Maxwell's Silver Hammer

from
wikipedia

McCartney said in 1994 that it merely epitomises the downfalls of life:

"Maxwell's Silver Hammer" is my analogy for when something goes wrong out of the blue, as it so often does, as I was beginning to find out at that time in my life. I wanted something symbolic of that, so to me it was some fictitious character called Maxwell with a silver hammer. I don't know why it was silver, it just sounded better than Maxwell's hammer. It was needed for scanning. We still use that expression now when something unexpected happens."

McCartney referred to the song when talking about his 2005 album Chaos and Creation in the Backyard:
"In the past I may have written tongue-in-cheek, like 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer', and dealt with matters of fate in a kind of comical, parody manner. It just so happens in this batch of songs I would look at these subjects and thought it was good for writing. If it's good enough to take to your psychiatrist, it's good enough to make a song of."

Lyrics and video..

Joan was quizzical; Studies pataphysical
Science in the home.
Late nights all alone with a test tube.
Oh, oh, oh, oh.

Maxwell Edison, majoring in medicine,
Calls her on the phone.
"Can I take you out to the pictures,
Joa, oa, oa, oan?"

But as she's getting ready to go,
A knock comes _ON_ the door.

Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer
Came down UPON her head.
Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer
Made sure that she was dead.

Back in school again Maxwell plays the fool again.
Teacher gets annoyed.
Wishing to avoid an unpleasant
Sce, e, e, ene,

She tells Max to stay when the class has gone away,
So he waits behind
Writing fifty times "I must not be
So, o, o, o.."

But when she turns her back on the boy,
He creeps up from behind.

Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer
Came down upon her head.
Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer
Made sure that she was dead.

P. C. Thirty-one said, "We caught a dirty one."
Maxwell stands alone
Painting testimonial pictures.
Oh, oh, oh, oh.

Rose and Valerie, screaming from the gallery
Say he must go free
(Maxwell must go free)
The judge does not agree and he tells them
So, o, o, o.

But as the words are leaving his lips,
A noise comes from behind.

Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer
Came down upon his head.
Clang! Clang! Maxwell's silver hammer
Made sure that he was dead.

Whoa, oh, oh Silver hammer,

2oct celebration with Gandhiji

2oct celebration with Gandhiji

The Clean Earth Movement which is involved in tree plantation on the Baner hill and in garbage management activities in the Baner-Balewadi area announced the Clean Rivers initiative to start on Oct 2nd.

Their aim is to get the Mula and Mutha rivers to their earlier state of being rivers rather than the current state where they are looking more like sewage canals and swamps.

The first step in that regard is to clean up the Ramnadi river that flows from Pashan lake into the Mula river. the sewage canal that flows under the bridge at Hotel Mahabaleshwar, but it actually starts off as a clean river !

Pune Municipal Corporation staff and local activists will explain the plan and also start cleaning activities at this time.

It was nice to be part of this initiative.

some pics from those events.

If you are resident of baner/balewadi and wish to be part of this movement, get in touch. or just
visit baner hill on sunday morning at 8 to plant and watering the trees.

Let it be Success. Go Green. Live Green.

Anamika on Orkut :)

So when Everyone here in India was worried about trust vote on 22 July 2008, even I was curious about the result and infact I wanted UPA to win the trust vote and they won :) but here in pune 3 of us were chatting about some other major situation on skype, which was initially disturbing for me but became quite amusing later, as is very much related to orkut :) and in the end was reason to remove smiling, smart, cute, beautiful and dashing pic of mine :)) from orkut profile.

so story goes as follows,

On the day of 22nd, maahi was as usual busy with managing his social life on orkut, suddenly in this friends list, he amused and wondered by an unsual thing on his friends list, what was it?

It was a picture of pretty girl, which is not usual for a seedha saadha guy like maahi which he didnt acquinted with to be on his friends list and he got more amused with picture was my profile picture. so excitedly he messaged dear bhola and put scraps to me asking who is she? is this your girlfriend? and bhole messaged me on skype telling me about this unusual thing which on any day, he would not have dreamed that I would have a girlfriend and more to that I would make it public in such a way, setting up a pic of her on my profile on social networking site, like orkut. and on any given day I wont. he guessed it should be some hacking attempt on my orkut account. as she was not my girlfriend who was she, I name it her as Anamika for the reason all knows.

Here is she on maahi's account.

and adding to confusion I tried to log on to orkut.com, it was not showing me my profile page and also not allowing me to logout. We thought it can be hacking case, but I could log into my other google accounts so it was not that sort of thing. fearing that it might be some nasty picture, I asked bhola and he sent me a screenshot, and I said, "Not bad!!!" she was quite pretty. I again and again tried to log on to orkut it didnt allowed me, finally I gave up and told bhola also to take it easy, somehow he seemed much more disturbed with this thing than me,

reason of it as I guess might be some new things like data migration which orkut might be trying at database level to improve performance or they might have tried to implement shards and failed at it. so I let it go.

but on second day, I think orkut dev guys fixed bugs, I was able to log in and got to the profile with apology from orkut about mess up with my profile pic, with telling me that my profile pic is restored but i couldnt see my profile pic.

here is pic restored message,

infact it took one more day for to appear smiling, smart, cute, beautiful and dashing pic of mine :))

In my mind I thanked some unknown dev guy from google for fixing bug with my profile, as I couldnt thank them as they dont have any easy to find feedback form :)). God knows, may be they are trying to become self-assuming gods which you can only connect with prayers.

But she didnt go, she came back and this time she appeared on my profile page again today. however pretty this anamika was, I just removed my profile pic from orkut, so you just see some arbit default image as on my profile on instead of, I bet you remember that ...smiling, cute, dashing etc etc pic of mine.

Here she comes again...

its look like it was some orkut maitenance updates.

so uploaded new photo on orkut, courtesy bhola.

Dont follow the Arrows - rajmachi :)

long story later but to tell in short that we lost our way cause we followed arrows which were taking us towards caves instead of taking us towards top. we couldnt reach to summit.

Full story as follows:

Trek to rajmachi

narayan and rashmi took a lead to organize 2-day trek with night stay to rajmachi, with 15 people showing interest initially, only 7 turned up on Trek-Day. as per my experience something always has to go wrong when you actually go for a trek, whatever planning you do beforehand it doesnt matter. it was no exception this time too. with sheetal and sunil getting stuck in their own home as they couldnt unlock their super-secure door from inside. and sujay with bad neck dropped his plan so they couldnt come. We had to wake up at 4.30 in the morning, Mahesh and veeru ditched last moment as per his usual reason "4 baje soye the hum log" :) but me and bhola reached the pune station as per plan and then with narayan, rashmi and 3 of their friends. we started our journey as tickets had been booked in advance, train journey was peaceful. we went to karjat then took a six-seater to base village kondivade.

Everything was going well, we reached base village, kondivade at 9 am which we thought was pretty early as per earlier experiences i though it will take 4 hrs so we should reach the top by 1 pm and thought we can come down same day.

so normally one would go to caves first and then to top, we decided to take other route as some big, noisy group of trekkers was with us so we decided to part our way from them and go directly to top. so we started well but soon we saw some arrows pointing the way we have come so we thought this is the way to go. so we followed those arrows in backword direction or in direction they were coming from. though we clearly saw that arrows are taking us in wrong direction, we still thought this is the way to go. so we followed them and after sometime the arrows vanished and we knew that we have lost out way, we messed up pretty badly. then so 3-4 hours we were struggling to find a way to go to top, at one point it seemed to us that we got the way. but it was wrong hope.
and meanwhile there was no rain but it started to downpour heavily. it was good to get drenched in monsoon rain.

then there we met some people from bombay who has organized ropeclimbing, I asked them for way to base village. but a guy told me that he was going towards caves in 5 minutes so he asked us to follow him, in no time it was clear that we are lost again as that guy seem to be newbie. hopefully signal was there so he called rest of group using a cellphone from one of us.

so we got to the caves then descended to base village, on the way back there was big waterfall. so all of us bathed there and then we started for base village. Ate Cheese vadapav there and went to karjat and then pune. total expense per head was 200 Rs only, including travel, food. quite cheap is mahangai ke zamaane me.

Though trek was incomplete we will give a try against next time.

svn update without password

first techi post from me.
I was setting up Cruise control on ubuntu box. cruisecontrol does svn update periodically and it was asking for interactive password for svn update from server. and it was failing. so I needed to set passwordless svn update on our dev m/c. I struggled bit but finally found the solution.
also got fundaes cleared abt how public-key cryptography works? :).

steps to setup,

1) generate private-public key pair on staging (remote server) using cmd
ssh-keygen -t
it will generate 2 keys id_rsa and id_rsa.pub. copy them to .ssh dir.

2) chmod 600 .ssh/rsa_id

3) copy private key from staging to .ssh dir on dev m/c
cd .ssh
scp user@staging:~/.ssh/id_rsa .
chmod 600 rsa_id

4) connect or do svn update from dev m/c to staging without password

Quotes from Vijay Tendulkar

I don't dream but its my wish , my dream, to play a clown. I want to paint myself and act like a mad person

I keep hearing this word again and again. What truth? Whose truth? These are the words that we play with. We wear clothes for others, behave in particular ways for others. And that living is the truth for that particullar moment. It changes from time to time and from individual to individual.

best writer I read till now. though not watched his best "sakharam binder" and "Ghansiram kotwal" ...searching for VCD/DVDs, anyone have it? ..let me know..

Dada or not Dada

This is about Saurav Ganguli..the cricketer I loved and admired most till now..
Actually I am not fervent viewer of cricket, and when I was terrific tv watcher during my school days, cricket was favourite thing to watch..although I used to
watch anything that doordarshan people used to show. even regional movies..or sports like kabbadi or athletics...some sports..during these tv frenzy days our cricket team never performed well, always watched them going down to
africans, aussies or west indies...so after debacle in 96 worldcup , things changes..new faces like dravid and ganguly came in to the team, both had kind of style which I
liked...though I used to follow Dravid as he was most stylist and technically solid batsmen I ever seen, personally I loved ganguly as way he used to compete with tendulkar in opening partenerships and way he used to hit big sixes to murali. I never paid attention to his other abilities like fielding. I loved him because India was winning nad thats what was important. people used to criticize him sayin that he plays for himself. though I never able see why people say that..but indeed i loved funda of playing for yourself if your team is winning then whats harm in that...so ganguly became a captain and indian team started winning overseas. then in 2003 world cup, we reached to final. then came Greg chappell though gangule brought him, somehow that guy wanted ganguly out. and they made dravid captain and taking ganguly out of team. I was kind of hurt because my favourite player was out and reason was they wanted to build a team for next world cup and they did something silly things in between, they succeeded in winning few games then failed miserably..and even dada made comeback.
although he did scored well in most of the matches he played...but that confidence...dominance...class...rudeness...style was missing....and till now I dont find it in him.
I think all these things are related to real youth which can be seen now in batting of Rohit sharma or even gambhir...
and thats why i think dada should take retirement from cricket...and That exit should be honourable. Prince of kolkatta should retire. because we can not see someone like greg chappel to come again and take you out without having any aukad but have authority to do so..

The kind of attitude he has, he can do it any other fields of life (though he didnt do any special on cricket field [ing] )
may be he can do something in sports manangement field

One more Beautiful song from Beatles

John lennon wrote this with help of paul McCartney

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_My_Life

I used lyrics of this song in my email to my classmates to invite them to our hostel valfi. Best suited to occasion..:)

There are places i'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends i still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life i've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When i think of love as something new
Though i know i'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know i'll often stop and think about them
In my life i love you more

Though i know i'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know i'll often stop and think about them
In my life i love you more
In my life i love you more

------

Yes.......you my friends..I know i'll often stop and think about you all...

One more reason to love this song...notice last 2 lines... :D

Shwashank redemption

nothing to write abt.....!!!!

Red: Let me tell you something my friend. Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane.

----------------

Andy Dufresne: Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.

----------------

Red: [narrating] I find I'm so excited, I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a free man can feel, a free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend, and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.

Shantaram

So finally finished this novel...though initially I had to struggle a bit to read through pages..as it was like reading someones diary...but as story of this guy went ahead to afganistan and various secretes unfolded..it was like I do not want to stop reading till I finish, and every stop was like the heartbreak.. I realized same mania while reading Fountainhead.

liked imaginary character of Karla and her fundaes abt life expressed through one liners.

Now waiting for movie Shantaram now, heard that Johney depp is going to play central role but as per my visualization it should have been Russel crowe..gladiator fame and do you know Russel crowe is relative of Martin crowe ...now who the hell is...? Few years back he was the captain of NZ cricket team and also his name discussed for coach of Indian cricket team.... and for all you know Johney Depp shares honours with Brad pitt for being my favourite actors of HW.

some one-liners from this novel...
* Luck is what happens to you when fate gets tired of waiting

* Sometimes you have to surrender before you can win

* Happiness is a myth. It was invented to maake us buy new things

* There is nothin as depressing as a good advice.

* The real trick in life is to want nothing, and succeed in getting it.

Hakuna Matata

Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful phrase
Hakuna Matata! Ain't no passing craze
It means no worries for the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy
Hakuna Matata!
Hakuna Matata?
Yeah. It's our motto!

So I went to trip to hongkong-macau with arnd 50 member from talentica. 11-14 th Jan to mark this date.
It was first time I went out of India, but its like ek hi paththar me 2 chidiya marna..I made visit to Singapore,
hongkong and macau. the trip was quite eventful and overall enjoyable experience.
with all kind of expected/unexpected problems rolling up in front of us...it was still Hakuna matata...

so starting with one project team facing some problem in their project, delayed our start from pune itself, then 6hr long wait at mumbai airport as flight for singapore delayed then again missing flight for hongkong at singapore, then 12 people including me got caught in some unknown probelms at immigration in hongkong, then in 5 members lost their way in ocean park, then 2 guys losing their passport in macau, then getting back their passport after whole night search and finally to complement it, one guy got caught at customs check in mumbai, as he bought the camera from hongkong.. :)

but all this problems doesnt stopped us from enjoying things. so starting from mumbai airport itself, while waiting for flight I met my old colleague, with whom I worked in cmc-xilinx. lots of old memories refreshed. It was unexpected meeting so really was big surprise. As we needed to take connecting flight via singapore to Hongkong, we got chance to see Singapore, We took short city tour in Singapore which was free. though it was quite boring tour, it was just worth a bit to tell people that I went to Singapore too. :)
And then we reached hongkong, We really had good fun at Disney land in hongkong, where we saw a live lion king show where artists performed lion king story , it was real treat to eyes. then river cruise and 3D Micky, the concept of sprikling water on audiance made show different from other 3 d effects I saw in theaters. other than that we relived our childhood by playing different games their. and Not to miss the Fireworks in the Night, then Next day was in Ocean park where We saw panda then we got behind as sunil was busy in shopping so we got separated from our group. it is not good thing to miss from group as later 5 of people lost their way and we had to wait for them for 2hrs at the gates. that lost and found experience if described will take a blog itself. but I will write abt it at some other time.
we gambled for sometime in MGM casino in macau. and came back and had a good sleep in hotel.

and then we took ferry back to hongkong and then a return flight from hongkong to Mumbai.

so Hakuna Matata in Pune.
soon will post link to photos.

New name..New game

Isnt it a best time to change the title of my blog. so obvious reason why to change the title of the blog.
So answer my friend is not blowing in the wind but "Change". When I first named my blog as Ice cream, at that time
blog-writing was just for fun, I used to copy interesting things like poems, quotes from internet and put it in my blog, but aftera while
I started writing on my own, my own thoughts and real life experiences, so gradually blog became like my open diary.
One of my friend took a objection abt my posting things online which everyone can read, but actually my experience is completely opposite,
for a year or so, my blog mostly contained copied things and few from my own golden words and creativity, so once I read all
my old blogs, and I liked my golden words more than what I copy pasted, which inspired me to write more, and gradually
I also got feedback from friends that they loved to read my blog, and asked me to write more (not my surname).I think writing some
thing on your own, requires good frame of mind and I find it sometimes very difficult to express general thoughts (though I use Airtel..express yourself..click click)
but when it comes to describing some experience, it's easy.

So back to track, that's exactly why I wanted to change the name? (so whats in name..crystal?) actually this is end of 2007
and I was getting philosophical, and I was thinking abt the things and people(good n bad) went into past and I was thinking that some very nice and lovely
people came and detached, some left everlasting impression on my mind and
others left with their impression, same thing for events happened all this life I spent.
so I think interesting and nice people will come and events will happen in years to come, so its like journey till I stops.

and more creative compositions were sprouting in my mind so thought will put it down on notepad, so finally decided
to put this as a title of the blog.

So answer my friend is indeed blowing in the wind :)

Wish you happy new year 2008 :)

and for a change I started playing cricket....

Trek to kalsubai

Learning from prior experience and mismanagement and pain caused us in trek to HCgad , we started planning for this trek a week beforehand.
as all hard work paid, and our trek went well, Ashish pandey who was most enthu during planning and shopping for trek unluckily missed trek
as ranjan and pandey got into minor bike accident which left pandey injured badly.
As usual our plan didnt worked well from start, as we have decided to meet at shivajinagar at 6.30 am on saturday,

So as per plan we got into bus for sangamner and from sangamner we were planning to catch bus for bhandardara, we got into the bus and if any other direct bus for bhandardara is there, and found that there is bus for Rajur which is just 21 km from bhandardara so I ran back into the bus asked everyone to getout from the bus and directed them to Rajur bus which was empty.

So after bus took off, we reached rajur at arnd 12 pm and has light lunch and then took a Vadap (a term for local unauthorized travel where people travel sitting on the rooftop of bus) to bari, I thought that is the starting point for Ratangad, meanwhile we found that Heat was tough, grass was dried due to intense heat. we reached bari to know that bari is starting point for Kalsubai
as per our plan: we had planned for trek to Ratangarh + night stay at ratangarh + trek to kalsubai.
but as shendi which was base village for Ratangad was 20 km away from bari, so we dropped plan for ratangarh and instead decided that we will do kalsubai today and ratangarh tomorrow.

meanwhile as we were stuffed in jeep, I sat in wrong place, I couldnt get a air to breath, so I was feeling nausea, so when I got down, I could stop and I vomitted whatever I ate at Rajur. after that I had a tea and banana, I felt somewhat better. then we started for trek, got a small boy from village as a guide as we wanted to get down early so that we can start for ratanwadi same day in the evening. it was 2pm when we started walking, in first phase there were no trees, too much heat was there. All were soon got exhausted, and we were taking break every 10-15 minutes.
For me, it was more tough as after vomitting I didnt have anything in my stomach, I was feeling powerless, even I was feeling that I can not complete this trek, and was thinking that I will sit down and let others go up. but I fought against that feeling and continued ,we were drinking water at every halt, after sometime we remembered that we have glucon d with us so, after eating glucon d we felt better, we continued our journey. after sometime,
we shaddow of hill started, and that was much better for us. so we continued, and just before there was a small well of water, and Man, that was real refresher, the water was refreshingly cold. and if we would have time, I could have had a bath there such a nice was that water.
so after drinking plentyful of water, fully recharged our batteries, It did take no time to reach at the top. And we reached to Highest peak(5400 feet) in sahydri ranges. it took has 3 hrs to climb the top. It was real satisfaction reaching , the Everest of Maharashtra. we sat there for while. Ate some food and then started back. On the way, Jignesh had a problem in his knee, and because of that, we came back very slowly. and it took 3 hrs
get down. after getting down, nagendra to complained about pain in his ankle. so we decided to ditch the plan for ratangad and instead decided to
see all the places like bhandardara lake, randha falls and konkankada on sunday.
we spent our night at bari, it was chilling cold there, we had a campfire and shared some stories.

then we went to see konkankada and MTDC resort. and at arnd 1pm we started for rajur and from rajur we got a bus back to pune at 3. reached pune at 8.30 pm..

So Trek was quite peaceful, but we decided that this is our last trek this season, and Ranjan Kumar now thinking of his new venture which is
Biking club. All the best ranjan kumar.

Bubble - I am bloggin it..:)

Transfer of vehicle to Pune from other state - updated on June 02/08

So after getting NOC from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, Next step was to re-register bike in Pune, I needed to deal with RTO, Pune, Maharashtra, Compare to hyd RTO, I found pune RTO to be much clumsier, full of agents, no PRO to get information with. still able to get information about what to do.
When I went to RTO, I was surrounded by Agents, who were demandeing 2000 Rs apart from all other taxes. I think doing it yourself should be much better as it does gives you experience of working with government offices. also after doing all hard work while getting NOC from hyd, I thought this should be miniscule task. so Wanted to do it myself.
After enquiring further, I came to know that person called Mr. Pazze handles all matters about vehicle outside Maharashtra, So I went to him and He handed me a document listing all the following. He is key person in carrying out this whole work. He will describe you whole procedure with very cool head and seems to be quite nice guy.
  1. NOC from original state where vehicle belongs(in my case Hyd, AP). 2 copies original
  2. RC book original, registration card
  3. Vehicle Insurance
  4. Invoice receipt – vehicle purchase dealer receipt
  5. Entry tax , in case when you bring the vehicle before 30 months of registration date.
  6. Address proof where you are staying currently with photo
  7. Affidavit of non-stolen vehicle by registered owner
  8. Form. No 26,27, 20,33 . you will get these forms free at rto.
  9. Pencil chassis print – 5 original
  10. NOC from Police Commisioner pune.
  11. Registration fee- 320
  12. 7 % for invoice cost as registration
You can refund previous paid tax by applying at Hydrabad.
He asked me to get the affidavit on 20 Rs stamp paper. so I went outside, was inquiring abt affidavit, one person demanded me Rs 200 per affidavit and I asked some other person he was taking 100 Rs so I asked him to do the work. so while having conversation with him, I came to know that He also had reregistered his vehicle but through agents and in turn paid quite big amount to get the work done, he was happy knowing that I am doing work myself not through RTO agent.
In pt. 10. to get NOC from Police Commisioner pune., you need a letter from RTO. You will get this letter from Mr. Pazze, after showing him all the above docs, after verifying docs, he will give you a letter from RTO to Commissioner of police, You need to give it in Commissioner of police office with xerox of NOC from hyd, and residential proof. and after 7 working days you will get the NOC from Pune police. The concerned person is Mr. Chavan. He will issue you NOC in 10 minutes, if everything is ok.
Then you need to submit all of above docs to Mr. Pazze and he will check the things and you need to get assessement done from counter 30/31( i think). then after getting how much amount you need to pay, you need to pay tax at counter 23/24 (i think..). and then re submit docs along with receipt of tax payment to Mr. Pazze. He will ask you to see him after 1 and half months.
So till now, it took around 2 weeks to get this much work done.
So finally I got my docs back from RTO officer, after that I had to go to alandi office to acquire a sign from RTO officer who checks the vehicles and gives you back the paper which takes 1 hours.
Now I need to give this docs back to RTO and get New maharashtra registration number and then apply for tax refund from hyderabad office.
I have written this blog in 2007. RTO procedure might have underwent some changes. if any of you go to RTO and find something is changed, I do request you to add comment or post link to your blog to help people who read this blog.
please post comments, if you have any queries. also if you know anything more than whats written here, please let us know. we would like to hear from you.

Harishchandra gad in winter

So harishchandra gad again...my longtime wish to visit HC gad in winter.
as last time we went in monsoon and we couldnt see much from top and that was like we went running to top and came down running. but that was different fun, trekking in heavy rain.
but Trekkin in winter was chill experience too. actually i can say it was mismanaged affair, none of the thing we planned did go well, starting from catching bus to nashik till we came back but its altogether different fun of making decisions when everything goes wrong and I think in every trek I experienced same thing but this was peak..
excerpts are like this..
getting into crowded bus then waiting for 2 hrs at strange place called aale phata and eating whatever we can get at that strange place then getting into a bus with our lives on stakes of bus drive who should better be in F1 race rather than recruited to run a state transport bus..such horrible was that drive...then walking 6-7 km at 1am in night and sleeping (or say trying to let time go in midst of ranjank's deadly snores)for 2 hrs...then starting for trek at 4.30 in the morning ...in half sleep condition ...then that superb feelings of being at top of the world after reaching to
taramati point and fun at konkan kada. and who can forget never ending journey back to base village...and most crazy thing I did with rakesh when we were in no condition that I cant even take next step with soaring lengs, then somehow I asked rakesh, "can he run?" then he didn't believe , asked me again, i confirmed , we started running ..and we ran damn more than 1 km, I think I could have run any distance to return to khubi phata..

lot to write about this trek...but for now just enjoy photos...

Working Class Hero

John Lennon wrote a song about Them and us.

Working Class Hero

As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV
And you think you're so clever and classless and free
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

There's room at the top they are telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on the hill
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

If you want to be a hero well just follow me
If you want to be a hero well just follow me

fountain pen

Disclaimer:
I will not be responsible for anything happens to reader who read this post. read on ur own risk

this is kind of imaginative and you can find painu post..but still you can enjoy it..
so story goes like this.
yesterday we were talking abt books..so friend was saying he couldnt read the Fountainhead as he found it heavy. this discussion was enough to put Fountainhead in my head as being read this novel twice and top on my favourites list. so my dearest hobby is to disect the words and reconnect the words with replacing them with synonims from different words or make some funny words/meanings out of word.

so "fountain" was the one. this word made me quickly recall me a past when I did not know the meaning of word fountain and one of my friend pained over my lack of knowledge :). till that time I knew the because it came in fountain pen.

so i started thinking about fountain pen and started disecting this word fountain like
fountain => found + ten (suppressed 'd')
=> pound 10

this meant I was actually found out what was the original Sellsman was doing..
they were actually selling some Pen with 10 pounds. and were shouting pound 10 pen.
and people mistaken that as a fountain pens.. and hence the name origined..

And with invention of this crazy origin of why they call it fountain pen the fountain pen and hence the Revenge!!! was it not sweet?

Chak de India

Saturday went to swargate for work and on the way , shahrukh's poster with hockey stick in hand was sufficient
to made me curious. and it was poster of movie "Chak de India", is the story of a coach's fight to make his hockey team, Team India, the best in the world. It is a film about self-belief, perseverance, determination and the human spirit to fight and win.

This movie will be releasing sometime next week or so. I am very excited to see this movie as first it based on Hockey teams struggle and triumphs, which should definitely will remind me our own struggles at Inter-IITs and BHAs.
I can write loads on it but will write one more blog after movie release.

I think this is the Best time the movie is releasing with Real India's rocking sport scene this month.
With Saniya mirza into finals of stanford open and won the doubles title.

Team India dominating at second Test at tent bridge.

Even Indian Football team is in news with winning 2 games out of 3 in portugal.

what more we can say other than

Chak de, India.

Relativity

Relativity
This weekend was pretty active, went for a small trek ,kor(a)igad on saturday. Trek was quite disappointment as rain was missing from the scene. still enjoyed long walkin and came back with
my face red because of exposure to sunlight. I wondered because 2-3 years of job spent in AC rooms
of corporate office changed me so that i can no more expose myself to my favourite SUN.
anyways on sunday went to satara with my car. Pune-Satara NH4 is so nice that i can drive constantly between 80-100kms which results in taking only less than two hrs to to reach my place.

so why the title of blog is relativity?
actually incidence is like this. while coming back from satara on monday morning i drove the car with ardn speed of 100 km per hr. So when I entered city via balewadi phata, I was in no mood to decrease my speed forgetting completely that roads in pune are not like Highways. and after some time a wagon R was ahead of me, a old guy was driving. I was pretty frustrated with this guy because he was not allowing me to overtook him as roads were narrow. so left no option to follow him. I was pretty frustrated with driving wiht this speed after driving at double speed just fifteen minutes ago.
after some time, I noticed speedometer , it was showing pretty 50 km per hr speed and I said not bad. and I wondered when daily I drives from office to home or vice versa , I never speeded above 40kmph. and I do comfortable with that speed. see now how impatient I have bacome with driving ?
and then realizing this I smiled and drove back to home happily.. as most of the thing do have happy endings like bollywood cinema:).

A Foolish Consistency is the Hobgoblin of Little Minds

don't get be scared by title of this blog. actually i got this from python documentation about program styles.

Two good reasons to break a particular rule:
(1) When applying the rule would make the code less readable, even for someone who is used to reading code that follows the rules.

(2) To be consistent with surrounding code that also breaks it (maybe for historic reasons) -- although this is also an opportunity to clean up someone else's mess (in true XP style).

foundation

excerpts from Foundation series 2 by asimov..great work..

first speaker advising the student who he thinks will follow him to become first speaker."

No - now you must take this phlegmatically. You had hoped you would qualify. you had feared you would not. Actually, both hope and fear are weaknesses. You knew you would qualify and you hesitate to admit the fact because such knowledge might stamp you as cocksure and therefore unfit. Nonsense! The most hopelessly stupid man is he who is not aware that he is wise. It is part of your qualification that you knew you would qualify.

my favourite song...

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
And i say it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And i say it's all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And i say it's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...

Little darling, i feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
And i say it's all right
It's all righ

Dog Fight

I do came to conclusion that animals do have their special language.. reason behind this is..as follows..

there was funny incident happened at my home. last week, we had a small function at home.
we named my nephew, "shishir".

Mr. Shishir More...our next generation.

so funny incident goes like this...function was going great. we have a dog , big dobberman at our home. don't go by its dengerous look. its really cooool dog. my dog wokes us in the morning or informs us whenever someone comes to our home... mast kutta hai...

our dog was suffering with pain in leg. dog was not able to walk. we called up doctor. and doctor putup a nice bandage on her right leg. but after that she was able to walk.but she preferred taking rest.she was lying quitely at her favourite corner. then bunty(my other nephew) took her for walk. as she is a dog who believes in Gandhian philosophy :). We never put chain and belt in her neck..so both were roaming around. I was busy with taking snaps at party. suddenly I heard people shouting and someone asked me to look outside..I can't believe my eyes. our dog brutally attacked our neighbourhood dog. she caught that dog's right leg and was pulling his leg. that dog was crying helplessly. it was too brutall attack. somehow managed to pull our angry dog away from that poor dog.

actaully after thinking a bit other day about this funny incident (definitely not funny for other dog) ..I did inferred nice reason behind this dog fight..:) reason goes like this...our neighbourhood dog must have teased my dog about her broken leg..so that she gave him punishment by breaking that dogs leg which was exactly right leg..
"eent ka jawab pathar se.." hehehehehe ...more conversation..may be during initial fight with bho..bho...conversion
might have happened like this...

other dog: hey crippled dog (teasing...)
my dog: don't talk like this..or mein tera peyr(legs) tod dunga..
other dog: chal dikha pair todke...
my dog: yele tod diya....(after pulling other dog's leg apart) :))

so i think its not only human who only can tease and fight with each other..the animals do similler things too...found it very very amusing...:)) if one able to understand language of animals...or even of dogs. kafi maza aayega..

Early Bird Entrepreneur's life..

" you will get some crazy idea and you think this ideas is going to change the world..this idea will make peoples life easier…it will make them richer..
And finally it will make you famous and Richest person on the earth…so you will spend plenty of time thinking about that idea.. You will concentrate on that idea leaving behind all the works you have in your hand..you can’t sleep in the nights and you can’t stop urself from dreaming about great Future of yours…you will think all the non practical consequences of you idea…then some current lifesaving work will hit upon you so that you can’t follow your idea and after some days you will again think of that idea and you will find that ideas is quite useless….Everything is finished you have lost 2-3 nights good sleep …you will be in dark of depressions cursing your own destiny and some missed chances and crashed dreams "

this is the note i wrote, sometime in past when i got frustruted with new ideas coming into my mind each day and making my day-to-day life nightmare to live.
as i thought this would be useless things i am doing , but indeed now I did realized that is actually nice practice to develop concrete ideas only I should not think of idea of materializing the idea into reality as most of the time those ideas are out of time. and like my friend satya's favourite saying "each dog has his day" ..."each idea will have its day"...actually I am now using a web 2.0 product which is in alpha stage for archiving my ideas and i am finding its fulfilling my needs.

so story goes like this...
I started blogging in my third year...my project manager at my summer internship wanted me to publish my technical learnings on the web. at that time blogging was not that populer. also it was new to me. I created blog with sandipmore.blogspot.com for publishing as per manager's suggestion but didn't published anything on that.
after 3 years again I decide to start a blogging and then I tried to get sandipmore.blogspot.com as webaddress but as it was already registered by me previously, also I did forgot my account name and password. I couldn't use that.
so today I was free and just trying things able to hack into my old account....

Does this make Sense?

Sandip: hi
Pradeep: yo
Sandip: mere dimag me ek theory aaya aaj..
Pradeep: bata
Sandip: how much efforts you put and how much output you achieves seems to be constant across all the people
phd wala research karta hi rehta hai
karta hi rehta hia
tabhi kuch 10 -20 saal baad kuch useful thing bahar aati hai
aur koi normal banda roj kuch chota chota kaam
karta rehta hai..
aur usko roj ki rojiroti usi kaam se milti hai..
:)
Pradeep: par output barabar kahan hua
Sandip: aur kya
cumulative output liya to
barabar hi ho jayega..
Pradeep: par second aadmi ne sirf rozi roti kamayi
pehle aadmi ne rozi roti ke saath kuchh useful bhi kiya
Sandip: usne roji roti nahin kamayii
usne jo output diya
uske liye usko rojiroti mili
agar usne woh output nahin diya hota to
usko rojiroti nahin milti
Pradeep: kayi baar aisa bhee toh hota hai ki sum of parts is greater than the parts
haan
sahi bola
Sandip: mein soch..
raha tha ki
jo bhi great discoveries/ya bhi solid work which can only be
achieved after working long term
as its not atall possible to achieve it thinking at short term
Pradeep: haan
Sandip: so its like energy is getting accumulated in that particular person..
till all that energy comes out with that final achievement...
which requires much more efforts..although
and the person
who does daily works..releases energy in him ..regularly..
hahah
Pradeep: haan..par long term wala bechara bhi toh roz hi kaam kar raha hai na
Sandip: but jabtak final output is not meaningful
his daily work don't have a value at all..
see the cricket team..
they have to perform in a final world cup
they didn't performed
so whatever work they do inbetween carried zero value..
Pradeep: hehe
sahee bola
Sandip: the final output is overshadows the work you did meanwhile.
aur in this case..success and failures which is the
only measure of output..
Pradeep: waah..abey sahee theory hai
book-vook lihh daal
Sandip: abhi apun yeh discussion blog me dalega..
Pradeep: seminars kar school colleges mein jaake
Sandip: heeheheheh
Pradeep: :D
Sandip: waise bhi blog likhne me kuch milta hi ch nahin
