Hi Sandip,
Superb piece of information. Very systematic and covers most doubts. Thanks!

Are you also aware of the validity period for the NOC issued by the RTO at Hyderabad?

Another piece of information required, please. How long does it take to get through the whole process? I am planning to shift to Bangalore on Feb 24th, 2008. Is it enough if I start the process on Feb 1st?

Regards,
Sree Kumar

Sandip More said...

it takes around 7-8 days and at max 15 days.

Sandip More said...

I dont know abt validity period of NOC issued, but i think it should be arnd 6 months.

Hi,
Do you know how can I get NOC if I have already moved out of Hyderabad. I can't go physically there and be there for 15 days to get things done.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks,

As I described in my post the whole procedure, I can clearly tell you that no RTA agent will do your work as it involves police verification, so if you have some close friend there who can complete full procedure for you. and doesnt need you or your bike to get the NOC. so all the best.

sandeep you have done a great job in writing this blog sir. 3 cheers to you. I moved out of hyd 3 years ago and now i want to see the bike and so need NOC. If I get the police verification done myself can i give the rest of the work to some agent and so he does it for me? and please let me know if there can be any complications in police verification (altough my vehicle has a clean history) can you throw lite on some uncertain complications that can arise? thaks a lot sir for the help in advance

Sandip More said...

first of all its Sandip :)
and may I know your name, please? :)

You should not find any problem in getting Police verification, you just need to submit documents and in case you want it urgently you need to do as I did it.
so after getting police verification, it should not be any problem, you can hand it over to agent.

Friends, I wouldn't suggest anyone to go through the process of getting their vehicles transferred. It's a hassle really. Selling away the vehicle and buying another vehicle is the best option. But if you're bent upon transferring your vehicle, it's best to do it yourself than to depend on an agent. Agent will not give you any receipt for the documents you submit with him. He will insist you pay all the money to him only. He may do the work or he may make you run around as one of our friend mentioned...he doesn't have at least his RC with him. You will definitely find the process of doing it yourself very tiring and irritating and make N number of trips but still your work can be done. All the best guys. "{DO IT YOURSELF)

A very helpful post indeed. I am moving out of Hyderabad to Mumbai on July 1st. I have done the first step- the Eseva challan thing and now waiting for the police verification. Do I have sufficient time to get it done. A few doubts crossing my mind are:

1) What are the documents that the police verification demands? My current address does not match the address mentioned in the RC, though both the addresses fall under the same area police station. Will it be a problem?

2) What amount will the agent take to get the NOC from RTA.

they dont ask you for adress proof, as I was moved to pune when I tried for NOC, though you can carry with you your current address proof and all other vehicle related docs like rc, insurance etc.

2) What amount will the agent take to get the NOC from RTA?
most of the agents there refused to do the NOC work, first I tried to do it through agent he took some 1200 Rs from me, couldnt do it so returned money to me, as there main problem is to get work done from police like verification etc.

I think 15days are enough but still you can go to local police station and ask yourself abt noc stuff showing ur eseva slip to speedup procedure.

Hi Sandip,
Thanks a lot for all d help. I had talked to one of d agents who did my vehicle registration last yr. but said tht he wont be able to do the police verification etc but only the last step-getting noc from attapur i guess. so ws just wondering how much he shud ask for this and how much shud i pay.

Sandip More said...

i think you should pay him 100 Rs which is more than enough. As in RTO you just need to submit the papers and collect the NOC. it will take a 1-2 days time. and if you request them they will give you on same day.

hi sandip,

thought of sharing my experience with hyd police in processing noc.
i applied for noc with cyberabad police on aug10,2007 and yet to get it.and i moved from hyd to pune on 19aug,2007.

its close to one year, since i am using the bike with AP registration no. now a days it has become more risky to take the bike on road, due to heightened security becos of bomb blast threats to pune city.

Thanks
Chandra

Hi Guys,

I have recently moved from Bangalore to Hyderabad with my two wheeler. I have got the NOC from Bangalore RTO. Can somebody please guide me what else I am supposed to do in Hyderabad RTO. I have paid the life time tax in bangalore, am i required to pay the tax in hyderabad as well? Any idea how much will be the amount, my bike is 11 month old and 150CC.

Sandip More said...

hi rajeev,
If you are permanently shifted to hyderabad then you can change your number. I think procedure should be similler as I wrote in my blog.

http://sandipmore.blogspot.com/2007/12/transfer-of-vehicle-to-pune-from-other.html

yes, You need to pay tax again in hyd and apply for refund in banglore.

Sandeep,

At step6 in your post, do I need to submit original RC at the RTA, or a xerox copy should suffice?

Warm regards,
Shyam

Sandip More said...

yes, you need to submit original and keep xerox with yourself.

Hi Sandip,
I recently moved to Pune. My bike is registered in Uttaranchal (UA) now UK! I had got an NoC to Bangalore before i moved there for 2 years. There i didnt bother much as the cops didnt bother me. But after 2 years now i'm in Pune where the scene is different. I was going to go to the RTO tomorrow before i read this "Eye opener" blog.
I do not have anyone close in Dehradun.
Please suggest me a way out or the best possible solution. Money not much of a problem.
Thanks!

Sandip More said...

Shubham,
Actually as per my experience in this thing, NOC is must and even getting NOC, agents wont help much. but if you have ur old NOC. Show it to officials/agent @ Pune RTO. Otherwise you need to get NOC again from uttaranchal.

Hi Sandip,

Very informative piece....

Recently I have shifted to Hyderabad from Pune. I have also brought my Santro with me, without applying for NOC (was not aware of the process and complexities). I will stay in Hyderabad for almost 10 months. Do I still need to do re-registration of my vehicle. If not then do I still need to apply for NOC in Pune. What is the process if I want to drive my 4-wheeler in Hyderabad with Pune's registration.

Thanks,
Harshit

Sandip More said...

Harshit, you will need NOC with which you can drive ur car without having to register it for sometime. You can ask any trific policeman you He will tell you.
btw I have started a website called
http://rightprocedure.org to address various problems people in india face and try to give solution to it. so if you have some useful information to contribute, Please let me know.

Hi,

I have a strange scenario. I couple of years back I moved from Bangalore to Hyderabad and took NOC from Bangalore. But in the NOC document the address is written one RTA office and the actual documents are sent to other RTA office. Finally they rejected to register in Hyderabad. I used it like that for these two years. Now I want to sell my bike in Bangalore. What can be the procedure? Canelling the NOC will work?

Guys,
Does anyone of you have a contact no. of an RTO agent in the Indiranagar RTO office in Bangalore. I need some helpinh hands to speed up the process of getting an NOC for my bile.

Hi Sandip,

Yet another thanks. I was searching the net for about 3 hrs resulting in 'information overload ' & confusion, before I saw your narrative. I'm yet to go throught the gruelling round ... hehe. true that the traffic police men are helpful, but the regular police station is a place where you cant get anything done quickly without motivating them :)
